International Metropolis Conference 2022: Online-Seminar on "Global human trafficking trends: an obstacle to fair migration“

The event will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Registration is not required.

With the IOM migration report’s chapter on human trafficking as its starting point, this webinar sets out to clarify current definitions of and interlinkages between human trafficking and migration.

Using IOM’s data on identified victims and regional variations as a basis, new forms of cooperation with the banking and private sectors will be discussed further. Two additional regional perspectives from research and advocacy from South Africa and Germany will take a closer look at existing policy gaps in legislation and introduce several initiatives that promote decent work.
